Pricing & what's included

What a Uganda safari actually costs

We don't publish fixed prices for tailor-made trips, because lodge rates move with the season and permit availability changes through the year. What we do publish is every statutory cost that goes into your quote.

Government permit & park fees, 2026

These are pass-through costs set by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. We quote them at cost with a small buffer for mid-cycle revisions, so a permit increase never changes a confirmed booking.

Seasonality

  • Peak (Jun–Sep, Dec–Feb). Highest lodge rates; book permits 4–6 months ahead.
  • Green season (Mar–May, Nov). Lodge rates typically drop 20–30%; lush forest, muddier trails.
  • Shoulder (Oct). Balanced pricing and availability — the best window for later bookings.

Deposit & payment

  • 30% non-refundable deposit at booking to secure permits and lodge allocations.
  • Balance due 60 days before arrival, aligned with UWA and lodge cancellation policies.
  • Cancellation and permit-transfer terms are sent in writing with every quote.
